Our Mission

At “Wood and Nature” Foundation, our macro mission is to protect and restore the world’s forests. On a micro level, we assist and empower woodworkers, foresters, and craftworkers in their work and inspire them to embrace a holistic approach. We aim to promote the integration of sustainable development principles within these industries, instilling a deep respect for the environment and encouraging sustainable practices that prioritize the responsible use of wood resources. By fostering innovation, education, and collaboration, we aim to enhance woodcraft culture that ensures a harmonious coexistence between human activities and the natural world.

Wood as a building material can be sustainable, recyclable, and biodegradable.  Our educational activities aim to raise awareness and enhance the public’s creativity with design thinking that leads to responsible use of wood and delivers sustainable development. We passionately believe that woodworkers can and should do their work in a manner that respects the environment, champions social justice, and provides long-term financial sustainability.

Our commitment extends beyond mere respect for the environment; we aspire to catalyze a transformative shift towards more conscious and responsible practices in these sectors. By actively promoting innovation, education, and collaboration, we aim to create a paradigm shift that champions sustainability as a core value.

Through our various initiatives, we endeavor to raise awareness about the critical importance of preserving and replenishing forests. We vigorously advocate for reforestation efforts and the utilization of ethically sourced and certified wood products.

Collaborating closely with professionals, organizations, and local communities, we work tirelessly to develop comprehensive guidelines and standards that guarantee the long-term health and sustainability of forest ecosystems.

Moreover, we recognize the interplay between environmental preservation and socioeconomic development. Consequently, we are deeply committed to supporting and uplifting the livelihoods of woodworkers, foresters, and craftworkers. We achieve this by actively promoting fair trade practices, fostering inclusive communities, and advocating for equitable opportunities within these industries.

In essence, our mission at the “Wood and Nature” Foundation is to catalyze a collective and unwavering effort toward responsible environmental stewardship, ethical wood utilization, and sustainable development. In doing so, we aspire to establish a harmonious coexistence between human activities and the natural world, where the intricate balance of our ecosystems is respected and upheld for generations to come.

At our workshops and seminars, we explore wood’s sustainable and creative potential as a building material. Our educational activities aim to raise awareness and inspire design thinking that leads to responsible wood usage. Whether you’re a seasoned woodworker or just curious about woodcraft, our programs are tailored to enhance your knowledge and skills while fostering a deep respect for our natural resources.

The foundation promotes and cultivates innovative solutions and technologies that contribute to sustainability in using wood and life in general. We advocate for the utilization of renewable energy sources, the advancement of environmentally friendly wood-related materials and practices, and the exploration of modern approaches to water and waste management within the context of wood-based industries.

Beyond environmental preservation, we are passionate about fostering social justice within the woodcraft industries. Our initiatives promote fair trade practices, inclusive communities, and equitable opportunities for woodworkers, foresters, and craftworkers. Together, we work towards a more equitable and sustainable future for all involved.

We participate in collaborative projects with like-minded individuals and organizations to come together to drive transformative change. By actively promoting innovation, education, and collaboration, we aim to create a paradigm shift that champions sustainability as a core value within these industries.
